RESIDENTS and staff at care home are supporting a charity that rehomes abandoned pets.

Care UK’s Cranford Grange in Knutsford has raised £400 for Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home.

A summer fair at the home on Hall Lane was one of many fundraising events they held last year.

Jan Stewart, from Manchester and Cheshire Dog Home, said: “It is only through the kindness and generosity of the public that we can continue to help and support the animals in our care.

“This donation is very much appreciated, especially in these uncertain times.

“The money will go towards maintaining the health and wellbeing of our four-legged friends.

“On behalf of all the team and dogs thank you.”

Lisa Burrows, general manager at Cranford Grange, said: “I want to thank everyone who helped with the fundraising efforts, from coordinating special events to those who donated funds.

“To be able to present the cheque and blankets to the dogs home was fantastic.

“We strive to build relationships and be a part of the community through supporting good causes on our doorstep, especially those close to the hearts of the team and residents.

“Residents enjoy the sense of purpose that comes with making connections and supporting our four-legged friends.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Jan from Manchester and Cheshire Dog Home for welcoming us and we hope to see our new friends again soon.”
