A DRIVER who got behind the wheel while being almost five times the legal drug limit has been banned from the roads.
Phillip Howard, of Middle Walk, Knutsford, admitted drug driving and appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced on February 16.
The 59-year-old was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Griffiths Road in Northwich on July 27, last year, when he was stopped by the police.
Subsequent tests revealed he was almost five times the limit for a specified controlled drug.
A blood test recorded 240µg/L of Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine, in his system. The legal limit is 50µg/L.
Howard was banned from driving for 12 months, an obligatory disqualification for this offence.
