DETECTIVES are appealing for information from the public after two men were stabbed in Alderley Edge.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "At about 12.20am on Sunday, July 28, officers were called to the Bubble Room on London Road after a man came to their door for help reporting he had been stabbed further down the street near a betting shop.

"Staff at the Bubble Room looked after the man while they waited for emergency services.

"Officers attended and found that a 28-year-old man had been assaulted by two unknown offenders.

"The man, who is from the Irlam area, was taken to hospital; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A second man, a 28-year-old man from the Congleton area, was also found to have been stabbed during the incident.

"He had left the scene and taken himself to hospital prior to the arrival of officers. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."

Two people from Derby were subsequently arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault in connection with the incident.

The 30-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have since been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
