ANOTHER hot weekend in summer, another Sunday from hell coming up.

Since my last letter, which the town council has ignored, the hellish Sunday markets continue to wake us all up at 6am in the town centre.

Do any councillors actually live in the town centre?

Do they even care about our predicament?

It is time that someone from the council stood up and said this is not acceptable to those who vote them on to the council, and we want the market moved to The Heath or elsewhere; how about The Moor even?

Besides, Princess Street is too narrow for this event, and represents a health and safety risk, despite what the town clerk says.

One lady passed out in the market last time and had to be stretchered through the crowds.

This is just not an acceptable risk, and neither is it acceptable that the town council has made no attempt to contact us town centre residents or to remedy the situation caused by their its in having these markets.

Will we get anywhere?

They say money talks, and it’s so deafening here, that it drowns out our voices.

But not at the ballot box, where we will have our say and give our verdict on town councillors that don’t give a damn.
