I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Charlotte Blakemore’s letter in January 12 edition’s letters page and as a responsible dog owner I make use of the bins.
However, when walking my dog I have noticed that the amount of litter discarded is an unsightly problem.
Near Bexton Primary School, three litter bins are provided but there are still empty sweet and crisp packets on the ground.
The same problem occurs on the roadsides near the high school on Bexton Road.
Also, if the proposed play area on Ashworth Park were to go ahead then littering would be an issue.
Perhaps the schools and parents could provide some citizenship education to pupils, then those of us who live in the area would find we can enjoy our walks more.
We live in lovely town so let’s keep it cleaner please.
