IF the Knutsford Crib opening this weekend was occurring in, say London, I could foresee a judicial enquiry being called for.

So many issues that need addressing.

For 18 years now the religious event has occurred on the first Sunday of Advent.

It represents the period of preparation for the coming of Christ. Christmas Day!

Who approved the change to the day before the third Sunday of Advent to open the Crib?

The ministers from Knutsford church’s were not consulted and for the first time it was held on a Saturday.

A little more communication would be beneficial to our community.

The impression that I had that it was just an amusing Saturday evening event for the drinkers that were sat few yards away in the Lost and Found under the heated umbrellas.

While those who were at the event stood in the poring rain.

Why did the crib lights and Christmas lights in the trees not work and today are still not on?

It is a very beautiful town Crib great pity there is not greater visibility and it requires a rethink on position.

Why not Canute Square?Far more people can then be accommodated at the event.

I hope we have not let another Knutsford event influence movement of Crib opening to last Saturday.

We must in this global world maintain our Christian values in our society.
