THIS has been a record year for the Knutsford Hosts and our unique town-wide community volunteering scheme.

The Hosts have contributed more than 2,000 hours of voluntary time to help promote the town and support the many events, local organisations and charities that make this part of the county such a wonderful place to live, work and visit.

I’d like to pay tribute to each and every one of our 80-strong volunteers for all they have done.

They have given their time and skills to help a huge range of events such as RHS Tatton, Stage 3 of the Tour of Britain, Knutsford Heritage Open Days, Royal May Day, CarersTrust4all, Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, Race for Life, Friends of the Heath, the Beer Festival, Play Day on The Moor, Great Places Christmas party, Knutsford Lions Street Fair, the Pumpkin Path, the Tatton Yule Yomp, St Cross Tree Festival and the Reindeer and Lantern parades as well as supporting Tabley House Collection, the Lions Christmas Appeal, Knutsford GROW, The Welcome, WRVS, the Heritage Centre, Oxfam and many others during the year!

So a most heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the wonderful Knutsford hosts for their massive contribution to Knutsford and a big cheer for volunteers everywhere.
