AS A blue badge holder, I was saddened and appalled to read Richard Cussons’ letter of November 2, berating disabled people.
I do agree that there are issues with parking on Princess Street, as highlighted by the recent emergency at the Co-op store.
However, in my experience, more often, it is able bodied individuals who have parked on double-yellow lines.
Mr Cussons may not know that it is actually legal for a blue badge holder to park (safely) on double yellow lines if no other space is available.
I am sure that we would all welcome appropriate enforcement of parking regulations in Knutsford to encourage people to create a safer, more considerate, environment.
Disabled individuals still suffer from discrimination and attitudes like those of Mr Cussons just add to this discrimination.
