THE presence of ‘creepy clowns’ now active in Knutsford is coincidental with the same activity here in Tampa, Florida, and elsewhere in the USA.

One wonders which community can claim the dubious honour of being the first to introduce this idiocy.

These would-be comedians must be smoking some interesting weed to be so entertaining!

However, with electronic communications being so fast, this trend might have begun anywhere.

Also, I am surprised that the temperature there is as low as 13C (54F here).

Is an early winter expected?

The expected high here today is, understandably, 30C, this being an improvement over my days in Old Trafford (now without the Old), Stretford and Sale, until I departed to Canada in 1957; this following my stint in the RAF as an engine mechanic, albeit, it was really cold there.

Unfortunately, when I open the Guardian email, it is unavoidably littered with US advertising, including information about Trump/Hilary campaigns.

Bravo to the First Responders: Sylvia, Adrian and Stuart, for garnering the highest award.

I look forward to my eventual permanent return* to the Knutsford area, and that Sceptred Isle, my wish being that it is never reduced to electing a president!

*To borrow from Sir Walter Scott, I am tired of “…wandering on a foreign strand”.
