I FEEL compelled to comment following recent letters.

Mr Stocco is quite right, our MP does feature in photo stories in this newspaper and it is often unclear what his contribution to the particular circumstance is.

However, it may be valid that he is in effect, acknowledging success or indicating support for these circumstances.

Perhaps the story writers could delve a little deeper for us.

Mr Hurrell however, appears to know more, stating that George has helped for example schools and sports clubs.

This was not substantiated by any evidence.

Mr Hurrell is clearly a strong supporter and is entitled to voice that opinion.

However, it is rather ‘bullying’ to demand that someone who holds a different view be asked to explain their life contribution and give a detailed address.

It is sufficient for the writer to give their address to the Guardian and for their general location e.g. Knutsford, to be printed.

What this exchange indicates to me is that there is a difficulty in ordinary members of the public being able to get their messages across to our MP.

I have had some positive written exchanges, particularly around the election period.

However, a request for a follow up meeting, on specific issues of national policy affecting local matters on school and sports planning, has gone unanswered. Mr Cameron wrote to his local council recently expressing dismay at their actions, obviously out of touch with the impact actions in Westminster have on the ground.

I would like to inform Mr Osbourne before he realises that what he intended is not necessarily what is happening.
