I’D VERY much like to thank everyone who voted for me on May 7, those who gave me words of encouragement and support and especially those who helped with my leaflet deliveries – without your help, this amazing result would not have been possible.

It has been a truly exhausting and emotional few weeks and months leading up to the election, with all the hard work making the second Knutsford Beer Festival a huge success, my Tryfan Sky Light walk in memory of my Dad and of course the election campaign itself.

For all of the above activities, I thank everyone involved for their support.

I hope this election result might persuade more people to think about standing for town council in the future, and demonstrates that you do not need to be a member of a political party to be elected to represent your community.

I would also like to congratulate Yvonne Bancroft and Charlotte Greenstein for their excellent results. I commiserate with those who missed out, but congratulate them for putting their names forward. Congratulations also to the Conservative members, new and old, who have been elected to serve the town. I look forward to working with you.

Thank you for all the comments of support on Facebook, Twitter, texts etc, my phone has almost been glowing red since the result was published.
