ONCE again medical facilities are under attack in Knutsford.

Not this time a closure, but a stealth tax on patients visiting Knutsford Community Hospital.

According to last week’s lead story I shall have to pay £2.20 in parking fees when I visit the excellent blood clinic.

We are told that these changes are necessary to improve security and ensure parking for patients.

I think it is a way of fleecing money from patients.

The problem East Cheshire NHS Trust say exists, can easily be solved by staff and visitors who are parking at the hospital to simply sign in.

Admittedly there will be the outlay of a suitable form, the design and production of a master copy, which I would willing do at no charge.

All that the trust will have to provide is some pens and have some forms photocopied.

Those illegal parking illegally will be registered on the automatic number recognition system that the generous trust could provide as they claim illegal parking is such a problem. Their £70 fines should soon pay for the ANPR.
