IN RESPONSE to Rick Weightman’s letter in the Guardian, October 1, regarding road closures.

While acknowledging there are problems on the directions given on access roads around Mobberley Road, Knutsford, we did all receive a letter giving us the details and the heading did say to keep the letter in your car.

The day the work began, Monday, I returned home from Chelford via Manor Park to Mobberley Road opposite Dog Lodge and a very helpful and courteous young man asked me to wait at the cones to be escorted to Middle Walk.

I only waited for three minutes for the escort to collect me and guide me safely through the heavy vehicles at either side of the road.

We have been complaining for a long time about the huge pot holes and therefore accept that some inconvenience will occur while the resurfacing is taking place.

I would suggest that we go easy on those who are only doing their job. Night work would be expensive and not very helpful to those trying to sleep.
