THE postscript to his article in last week’s Knutsford Guardian says much about Knutsfordian’s character.

He is miffed at not being sent an invitation to attend the civic parade, service, buffet and awards ceremony on June 29.

To imply that anyone who was a civic award recipient was not fully informed by the town council is pure invention.

Doubtless it was actually the Knutsfordian, uninvited, who arrived too late.

Well in advance, all award recipients were sent a mailed invitation and a letter detailing absolutely everything.

I know because I saw both.

This was followed by two-way confirmation with the town clerk, of the numbers and names attending and their guests. Very precise information was given on the location and timing of the service, buffet and awards ceremony.
