I AGREE entirely with The Knutsfordian, February 12.

I expressed the same sentiments in a letter published November 27, last year.

There are eight proposals for development in Knutsford, some are in the Knutsford Plan and some not.

The Cheshire East website is confusing.

The most damning issue is that all developments will have an impact on the traffic in Knutsford which is already seriously congested. Planners and elected councillors fail to take a holistic approach. The Bruntwood proposal for Booth’s Hall approved last week has a lightweight section from the council’s highways department which contains little hard fact on traffic flows.

Clr Wilkinson stated at last week’s council meeting that traffic in Knutsford is a ‘nightmare’.

My main worry is that the vast majority of people in Knutsford don’t know what is going on.

The approach of CEC is to kow-tow to central Government and pay lip service to consultation. The whole thing is a shambles, and a fully independent inquiry of what is going on should be commissioned and made public.

I am fully supportive of economic, business, employment and housing development for the future, but it must be done in a holistic way with a full evaluation of the potential impact on traffic.

When will our elected members face up to this fact and act to fulfil the interests of the electorate they represent? None of these three elected members for Knutsford attended the council meeting when the Bruntwood proposal was presented for debate last week.
