THERE was a clear and convincing winner when the Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League’s top two sides faced off this week.

Mobberley C came out on top to move four points clear of Mere A at the summit, with Paul Da Silva’s 100-point frame helping them to a 5-2 win in the big Week Seven game.

Tatton A beat Morley Green by the same scoreline in another meeting of two well-fancied sides to jump up to third, with ton-plus scores from Paul Townsend and Pete Blain helping out.

A season-high break of 69 from John Berry helped Shaw Heath continue their fine form to move up to second by beating Mobberley B 5-2 – they now sit three points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

The top half of the table is completed by Heald Green after they hammered Wilmslow Cons A 6-1 while Mobberley A recorded a 7-0 clean sweep of Wilmslow Cons B to move up to seventh.

In the Tuesday game, Tatton C edged out Mere B as Francis Evans’ score of 118 points helped them to a 4-3 victory.
