RYAN Dignan is scheduled to complete a creditable first season in the Mini Challenge JCW racing series at Donington Park on September 16-17.

The Knutsford driver sits 16th of 32 in the standings following his last outing at Oulton Park.

That was an eventful weekend for the rookie in his two-litre Mini Cooper for rounds 15 and 16 of a hotly contested series.

He set off in the first of his two races from a respectable 10th place out of 24 starters.

Dignan gained and lost positions to be 11th by the last two laps when a shower of rain fell, creating treacherous conditions and he was involved in an 'off circuit’ excursion with several other cars for a ‘Did Not Finish’.

His car was swiftly repaired for the second race and, after starting from next to last in 18th, he built momentum.

Dignan gained four places on his first lap, two on the second lap, and one more on the third lap.

Although he lost one of the places towards the end of the race he crossed the line 12th overall.
