ANOTHER impressive bowling display delivered a 65-run success for Knutsford’s seconds in the Cheshire League on Saturday.
They posted 130-9 after winning the toss against their Langley counterparts at Mereheath Lane, where Darren Longden (30) and returning Shake Shimul (19) stabilised an innings that wobbled at 17-3.
They still appeared on course for a low total at 82-8 before Zahid Saleem (27no) and Zeeshan Shah (11), supported by resolute defence from Gavin Johnson, increased the tally late on.
An breakthrough from Adeel Bhatti (4-30), backed up by Shimul (5-14), saw their side run out comfortable victors as their guests succumbed for 65.
Opener Adam Cartwight (23) was the only batsman to reach double figures for the visitors.
They travel to Wistaston Village seconds this weekend, while the first team return to action at home to Tranmere Victoria.
