A CENTURY stand between Shake Shimul and Adnan Ghazanfar was a highlight of Knutsford seconds’ innings as they played out a high-scoring draw with Prestbury.

The hosts ran up 206-9 after winning the toss at Mereheath Lane, where Shimul (49) and Ghazanfar (80) added 103 runs for the sixth wicket.

Abhirup Biswas took 4-44 for the visitors, who reached 197-4 in their reply.

Graham Fish (85) led the way at the top of the order, while Shimul continued a fine day’s work by claiming 2-45.

Knutsford sit 10th in the Cheshire League Division C South and Central table ahead of a trip to Winnington Park’s seconds on Saturday, from 1.30pm.

The first team, without a fixture last weekend, resume their Division Four campaign with a home game against Old Parkonians.
