MOBBERLEY A secured the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s Division One title for a fifth successive year following a slender victory over Brook Street A.

They downed the final black to claim an aggregate victory, extending an unbeaten run to 54 matches as a result.

The rivals were due to meet again in the Team Knockout semi-finals last night, Wednesday.

Elsewhere Shaw Heath’s surprise loss at lowly Tatton allowed Alderley Union to close a gap to second spot to four points following their 5-2 success against Wilmslow Cons A.

Mobberley C’s march towards a place in the top-flight continued when they brushed aside clubmates Mobberley D in Division Two.

Wilmslow RBL improved their chances of joining them after they hammered neighbours Wilmslow Cons B.

Mere B took derby honours from their meeting with Mere A, while Mere C edged fellow strugglers Brook Street B.
