MOBBERLEY tandems will play against each other in next month's Knutsford and District Amateur League JME Alternate Pairs semi finals.

Paul Adkin and Steve Flinders, who ended the run of holder Pete Hodge (Wilmslow Cons B) and Ralph Robertson in the last eight, take on Chris McNeil and Paul Hodson.

In the other tie, Brook Street A's Bob Jones and Gary Long meet Mere B representatives John and Tom Jackson.

In the Bert Astles Memorial Pairs, 2013 winners Steve Bond and Tony Crompton (Mobberley A) succumbed to John Higgins and Charlie Williams (Wilmslow Cons A) at the quarter-final stage after a deciding frame.

Their reward is a head-to-head with Morley duo Dave Whalley and Arthur Faux.

Another Morley combination, Brian Foden and Richard Buxton, have clubmates Mike Richmond and Rod Bird blocking their route to a place in the final.
