ABDUL Aqeel produced another outstanding performance for Mobberley on Saturday as they climbed to third place in Cheshire County League’s third tier by beating Stockport.

He was their top scorer, with 77, as they posted 242-8 after being put in.

Nathan Wood (55) and Charlie Nield (51) contributed half-centuries too.

Aqeel then ripped through the home team’s batting order, taking 7-73, as Stockport were dismissed for 181.

Mobberley have now won four of their past five matches in Division Two.

In Cheshire Alliance Division Two, Knutsford went down by four wickets at home to Audlem.

Rasel Ahmed (28) and Shake Shimul (25) made the biggest contributions to the hosts’ 123 all out.

Audlem secured maximum points by the 32nd over, despite the effort of Ahmed (3-40) and Adnan Ghazanfar (2-43).

Knutsford seconds were skittled for 40 in a 10-wicket thrashing by Kerridge in Division Three.

Holmes Chapel won by three wickets at Westminster Park in the Alliance top flight, Glenn Tift (64) and Vish Bhardwa (56no) scoring half-centuries as the visitors chased 216 for victory.

Ashley suffered a four-wicket defeat at home to Haslington in the Cheshire League’s second tier.

Subtain Baig (39) and Jake Cairns (35) led the way as they posted 123 at Railway Field, with Tom Gledhill taking 5-35 for the visitors.

Cairns (4-60) shone again after tea, but Ben Istead (43no) led the Crewe-based outfit to victory in the 35th over.

Chelford were victors by three wickets at Woodford in the same section, while Over Peover made it back-to-back wins in Division Three after crushing high-fliers Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge.

Needing 106 to win, they made it with eight wickets to spare.
