RORY Pownall’s double was not enough to prevent Egerton’s reserves from suffering defeat at home to their Eagle counterparts in the Cheshire League on Saturday.
Jason Wright was on target too for the Knutsford outfit in a narrow 4-3 defeat.
The first team’s scheduled encounter with Barnton Wanderers was postponed the same day.
They turn their attention this weekend to the President’s Cup, when Maine Road reserves are their guests.
