TEENAGER Joe Woolley, a rising star for Knutsford in the Cheshire League this season, was decisive for Cheshire County FA’s representative team at the weekend.
He headed the only goal in a 1-0 win at Manchester in the FA County Youth Cup, sending the county side through to the competition’s last eight.
There they will host Devon at the end of next month.
“I’m told he had a great game,” said Reds’ chairman Jimmy Evans.
“While we miss him when he can’t play for us, we’re obviously delighted that one of our players is progressing as he is.”
Woolley has scored 10 goals in 18 appearances for Knutsford, making him joint leading scorer this season with Sean Lynch.
