FORMER Knutsford High School student Jade Evans was a winner in Saturday’s North Staffordshire Cross Country League meeting at Stafford.

The 17-year-old, representing Vale Royal Athletics Club, was fastest in the U17s girls’ race at Stafford Common, a full 15 seconds clear of runner-up Abigail Backshall (Colwyn Bay AC).

Evans’ clubmate Emma-Louis Pyatt placed third.
