CycleKnutsford held their AGM at the Angel Inn recently. Their biggest achievement during the year is that they have been included in the town plan, meaning that the town council will work and communicate with them to promote cycle routes and pedestrian access as a sustainable and healthy form of transport. It was also announced that Knutsford's first cycle route will be implemented next year.

Speaker for the evening was Laurence Moore, who had travelled from Poynton to communicate his experiences with the shared scheme in his home town. He was totally against the plan initially but has been converted since it's implementation and believes that Poynton has been revolutionised.

Committee member, Andy Coatsworth spoke about his recent trip to the Himalayas. He shared information about how to succeed the trip, from handle bar style, choice of tyres, bags versus panniers and showed some fascinating images depicting the Tibetan culture and lifestyle. Chairlady, Su Russell thanked the speakers and her hard working committee.

They are always looking for new members. Next year they will be communicating with members and arranging bike training and bike rides. Please visit the website www.cycleknutsford.org for further information.
