Coach trip to Llangollen on November 9

Llangollen is usually a popular destination and this proved no exception with 48 people joining the coach and two more joining at the destination.

First to alight were the D and C groups at Trevor. Brian Booth led his D group to the breathtaking Pont-Cysyllte aqueduct and then along the canal to Llangollen where they arrived in plenty of time for tea and browsing. The C group, led by Judy Cross, also went over the aqueduct to join the Offa’s Dyke path to Chirk Castle from there, the Llwybr Ceiriog Trail took them to Llangollen.

The B group was led by Chris Davis. She took them sharply uphill from the Sun Trevor Inn to join the Offas’ Dyke path then onto Eglwyseg to join the Clwydian Way back to Llangollen.

The A group met their leader, Brian Holmes, in Llangollen. From there they took an easy start along the canal before ascending to Moel Gamlin and Moel y Fan before descending to the Ponderosa Cafe. From there they took the Clwydian Way back to Llangollen with a detour towards World’s End.

The next trip will be to Holmfirth, the home of “Last of the Summer Wine”, on November 23. For more details, and to book your seat, please phone Barbara Ward on 01565 651765.
