MEMBERS were entertained by demonstrator Sylvia Bower with “All That Jazz” at the May meeting of Knutsford and District Flower Club.

Sylvia of Stockport, produced a beautiful arrange of flower arrangements using various unusual containers.

One stunning arrangement in a large red urn shaped vase, consisted of white orchids, white anthuriums and white hydrangea, while another contained vibrant zantedeschia with swirls of bright yellow medelino sticks. She was thanked by Dorothy Roger.

“Less is more” was the title of the members’ competition for May, and the winners of the various classes were as follows:

Novices and New Members: 1. Felicia Dykstra; 2. Lorraine Dorsett.

Intermediate: 1.Chris Gibbons; 2.Phyllis Stuffins; 3. Ruth Blockley.

Advanced: 1. Marilyn Makepeace-Warne; 2. Julie Wade.

Premier: 1. Mary Marshall; 2. Diana Jones; 3. Joan Wilkinson.

Flower of the Month: 1. Lorraine Dorsett; 2. Dorothy Monks; 3. Sheila Bettridge.

The next meeting will take place at Plumley Village Hall on Wednesday, June 18, when the demonstrator will be Linda Hardman from Preston with the title of “Look at it this way”.

The members’ competition title will be “Symphony of Flowers”. Visitors are welcome, tickets £6, at 1.30pm for 2pm.
