CATHERINE Haliburton was acting president at the April meeting of Goostrey WI.
She and her committee put on members’ night, the star of which was Susan Leicester, known as ‘Susan Grenville’ for the evening.
She entertained members with versions of songs from the Sound of Music, The Irish Rover renamed Ikea, and her fabulous Boob Song!
Sue Edwards gave the vote of thanks to Susan, Catherine and the committee for their hard work in making the evening a success.
The competition for an Easter card was won by Marie Watson, with one which had been sent from Egypt during the Second World War and displayed on the competition table at Goostrey WI over 70 years later.
Goostrey WI meets on the third Wednesday evening in every month.
