BEAUTIFUL tassels were displayed at the March meeting of Jodrell Side WI.

These were made by some members at a craft day held by instructor Jean Webb who showed how to make them. The event was obviously a success, well done to all.

The next rail trip will be to Shrewsbury on June 5, and the bowling team is preparing for the start of the season, good luck to all in their endeavour. The quiz team attended the Cheshire Finals, where 20 teams from across the county were put to the test.

The end result was that the team came just six points behind the winners.

Members were entertained with a slide show of the sights of Venice. This was linked to Tatton Hall as a young adventurer from there had travelled to Venice on the Grand Tour. The competition “a favourite piece of glass” was won by Marion Taylor, who showed a beautiful champagne flute.

Summer is beginning to loom with all that this entails, including the Cheshire Show and the Rose Day. Various plans are afoot in preparation for the busy time ahead.
