KNUTSFORD’S mayor helped to raise money for charity by holding a garden party over the weekend.

Clr Vivien Davies held the event on Saturday for the Mayor’s charity garden party in aid of her three chosen charities, the Royal British Legion, East Cheshire Hospice and Knutsford Royal May Day.

Members of the organisations all contributed to the event, which raised £412.50, and helped to provide a display of cakes and scones.

The event was attended by the Knutsford Royal May Queen, Lakeisha Bradbury, who looked resplendent in her regalia, and she and her family enjoyed the afternoon.

Christine Masson of East Cheshire Hospice had a display of plants and bulbs for sale, which contributed greatly to the event, and everyone was pleased to buy plants at reasonable prices to take home with them.

The raffle raised £146 thanks to the prizes donated by those involved.

Clr Davies said: “I would like to thank everyone involved, both those who contributed by giving and those who helped me behind the scenes.

“I also wish to thank everyone who attended the event on the day. Without their support it would not have been such a great success.”
