TICKETS are still available for the annual carol concert being held at Tabley House.

Organised by the Friends of Tabley, it is being held on Tuesday, December 7, and there are still tickets left for one of Knutsford’s traditional Christmas events.

The concert takes place at 7.30pm, and will be held in the old chapel, at Tabley House.

As usual, it will include carols and seasonal readings, both sacred and secular. The stars of the concert will be the hugely popular Border Singers, who will provide a variety of choral pieces.

Another tradition which ensures the popularity of Tabley’s carol concert are the mince pies and Madeira wine at the end of the evening.

Nick Payne, chairman of the Friends, said: “The setting for the concert is again very appropriate, as the refurbishment of the chapel itself is our next project.

“I hope people buy their tickets early this year, as there was quite a crush for tickets last year, and we nearly had to turn people away.”

Tickets are £12 (£10 for Friends) and are available by calling Carole Cooper on 01565 654301.

The Friends are also finalising their programme of events for the first half of next year, and will announce these early in the new year.

“These events, whether they’re lectures, concerts or visits to houses or galleries are always hugely enjoyable, and they’ll all raise the money for the chapel,” added Nick.
