EXOTIC parrots at Lower Moss Wood animal sanctuary at Ollerton have been moved indoors so they can snuggle up next to a radiator.

It has left the centre, which depends on public donations to cover its costs, with a monthly electricity bill of £1,000 – up from £400 last year. “We don’t get treated any differently just because of what we do,” said warden Ray Jackson.

“Rising fuel prices affect us like they do everyone else and we need more funds to keep going.” For more details or to sponsor an animal log onto lowermosswood.org
