Lovatt was convicted of both assaults at an earlier hearing at Chester Crown Court on December 12, last year, and was remanded in custody.
At a sentencing hearing at Chester Crown Court on March 13, he was jailed for a total of 18 months.
The prison term includes two months for breaching a suspended prison sentence for previous convictions of assault.
Lovatt had been handed a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for two years in March 2022, after pleading guilty to two counts of assault.
The reasons for imposing a custodial sentence at the time were given as the nature and seriousness of the offences and Lovatt’s previous convictions.
A restraining order was made banning Lovatt from contacting the victim, directly or indirectly, by any means.
