THREE fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were used to tackle a loft fire in Wilmslow.

Crews were called to Crosfield Road in Handforth shortly before 10.20pm last night, Thursday.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire in the roof space of a property.

Once the fire was out, crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

The aerial ladder platform crew from Lymm lay protective sheeting over the roof to prevent water damage.

Fire engines from Wilmslow, Wythenshawe and Cheadle attended the incident.
