KNUTSFORD Academy was bursting with pride and joy as students embark on exciting new careers.

Sixth-formers shared their excitement with teachers, families and friends as they celebrated their successful A-level results.

Headteacher Karen Key said: “Congratulations to our Year 13 students who have done incredibly well in their A-level and level 3 qualifications.

“We are immensely proud of this year group who have shown resilience and tenancy following disruption to their education as a result of the pandemic.

“The success stories we are celebrating are a result of our students’ hard work, determination, our dedicated staff and our incredibly supportive parents.

“We wish all of our students good luck in their next steps and we look forward to hearing all about their future successes.”

Head girl Erin Nelson is heading off to Liverpool John Moore University to study biomedical science.

Sean Manning said: “I’m really pleased. I’m going to study User Experience (UX) design at Manchester Metropolitan University.”

Jessica Hardman is on cloud nine after achieiving A* in maths, A in biology and an A in chemistry.

She said: “I’m excited. I’m going to Loughborough to study maths.”

Proud maths teacher Carole Taylor added: “Jessica has worked so hard, she deserves every bit of her success.

“Her results are amazing.”

Lily Clemett, who is off to study sociology, said: “I’m excited. My dream job would be cabin crew.”

Gabi Mazzag, who is going to Newcastle to study history, said: “I’m very happy.

“It’s a great relief to have my results. I hope to be a journalist or work in PR.”

Dylan Wood has been accepted to study economics at Lancaster University.

He gained an A* in economics and Bs in English literature and sociology.

Emma Woodhouse is jumping for joy after gaining two A*s and a B.

She is off to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds after gaining two A*s and a B.

She said: “I’m really excited. I want to be a dancer.”

Emma Leigh, who is studying international relations in Liverpool, said: “I’m very happy.”

Imogen Braun is looking forward to studying graphic design in Nottingham.

Flo Cassidy has been accepted at Sheffield to study journalism.

Ciara York is off to Leeds to read psychology and Lauren Roberts will be studying drama, English and creative media.

Jessica Hardman has a place to study maths at Loughborough.

Scarlett Bancroft, who achieved distinction*, A, A in performing arts, dance, English literature and theatre studies, will be studying acting and theatre at the University of Essex.

Sophie Tillotson has secured a place on the politics and international relations course in Nottingham.

Jon Lawes, senior deputy headteacher said: "We're incredibly proud of Sophie and wish her every success."

Sophie Cunliffe will be studying modern languages in Bristol.

Annabelle Turner achieved three distinction grades in all her BTEC subjects and has been accepted on the education and primary studies course at Liverpool John Moores University.

Sam Hewlett achieved a distinction and two merits in BTEC sport and enterprise and will study sports coaching at UA92 in Manchester.
