AFTER week five of the Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League it remains tight at the top of the table.

The top six teams are separated by just four points.

Tatton B are the new leaders after their fourth straight victory – a 5-2 defeat of Mere A.

Mobberley C sit in second place in the table after continuing their great form with a tight 4-3 victory against Wilmslow Cons A.

Just behind in third are Tatton A who re-ignited their challenge with a strong 6-1 victory against Wilmslow Cons B.

Tatton C and Mobberley B both continued their surge up the table with fine 6-1 victories over Shaw Heath and Mere C respectively.

John Dale and Alan Williams both had ton-plus scores for Mobberley in their frames.

Morley Green moved up to seventh in the table with a 6-1 victory over Mobberley A.

The match contained a 100+ score from Jason Robinson and a stand-out performance from Graham Walls who made breaks of 49 and 32 in his frame.

Last year’s runners up Morley have a game in hand on the teams above them and are just five points behind the leaders so are handily placed to challenge for the title again.

The previous week’s games started off with a top versus bottom clash as Tatton A faced off against their C team.

It was the previously winless C team who turned the table upside down as they thrashed their high flying clubmates 7-0, helped by a ton plus score from Chris Parker.

Mobberley C’s hard fought 4-3 win over Mere A contained a 100 plus frame from Darren Taylor. Mobberley B got their season up and running with a 6-1 victory over Wilmslow Cons A.

Tatton B’s 5-2 result against Mere C contained a 31 break from captain Andy Long and ton plus scores from Gary Long and Mere’s Arthur Hasford.
