A BIN lorry overturned on the M6 northbound after a crash, closing the motorway for several hours.

The heavy goods vehicle was involved in a collision with a stationary Vauxhall Corsa.

The incident happened shortly after 8am on Tuesday, October 11 between junction 17 for Sandbach and junction 18 for Middlewich.

One person in the lorry sustained an arm injury but, thankfully no-one was trapped.

The crash caused long delays as the entire motorway was shut for several hours.
