KNUTSFORD Bowling Club are hosting an open day on Sunday.
The aim of the ‘big bowls day’ is to show crown green bowls as a sport for all, where participants can keep fit, have fun and meet new friends.
“There has never been a better time to join us,” said secretary Dave Mee.
“We ran the same initiative last year and with the help of the ‘Knutsford Guardian’ it resulted in an influx of new members; who are now benefitting from a more active social life.
“Membership is open to persons of all ages, and for new bowlers we are able to offer free tuition and the loan of a set of bowls to get you started.
“There is nothing more pleasurable than being out on a summer’s evening playing bowls, and then relaxing with a drink in the comfort of our licensed clubhouse.
“Whether you just want to bowl for fun or play on a team you can be sure of a warm welcome and a great time.”
Throughout the season a number of friendly competitions are staged where people of different skill levels take part in an enjoyable atmosphere.
All year round the members enjoy the likes of quiz nights, bingo and hot pot suppers.
Membership is £30 per year. Visit the club on Mereheath Lane on Sunday to see for yourself. You can also visit @ knutsfordbowlingclub.co.uk or call Dave Mee on 07505 083001 for more details.
