AS the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show returns this week there’s a host of activities springing up at regional property company Bruntwood’s garden over the five-day show.

This is the third year Bruntwood has sponsored the show, and its Urban Greening Champion and garden designer Nathan Webster has created an engaging and interactive garden, which includes exhibition and performances spaces for inspiring and informative events throughout the week.

This year, Bruntwood’s show garden draws inspiration from previous installations at RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.

The Bruntwood Field Office in 2016 promoted the use of outdoor space both as a place for work and events, and The Bruntwood Experiment showcased Bruntwood’s support of urban greening and how it can contribute to the health and wellbeing of cities and citizens.

The 2018 Bruntwood Garden takes aspects from both of these features, creating a sustainable and useable green space that will act as a social and cultural focal point for people to sit, work and relax.

Incorporating a performance area, an exhibition space, an outdoor ‘board table’ and a display of suspended plants, visitors will be able to enjoy a multitude of events and activities within the garden throughout the show.

Tomorrow morning, from 8.45am to 9.15am, Bruntwood will be hosting a panel discussion exploring what people can do to travel more sustainably in city centres.

The ‘Sustainable Travel’ panel will unpack the issue and explore the innovations in travel that could create new solutions.

Between 10am and 10.30am the Hallé Youth Orchestra will be performing live from the Bruntwood Garden to provide visitors with a relaxing and inspiring performance in beautiful surroundings.

Sit back between 12pm and 1pm and enjoy a relaxing acoustic session with one of Bruntwood’s resident musicians Liam Coyne over lunchtime.

Performers from Manchester International Festival will be performing BREATHE at the Bruntwood Garden on Thursday and Friday from 10.45am and 11am.

The dance and spoken word competition sees pairs of dancers and poets battle against each other, performing duets that showcase their complementary styles while telling a single story.

On Friday, from 11.15am to 11.45am, yoga lovers of all abilities will have the opportunity to stretch, relax, and feel the flow during a beginner’s yoga session amidst the calming backdrop of the garden.

On Saturday from 10am to 12pm the garden will feature Manchester Youth Zone’s Creative Workshops. The workshops will give young people the opportunity to unlock their creativity and recharge in a calming and creative space in the heart of the garden.

The British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) is the largest and leading provider of music education in Europe. Bruntwood will be welcoming a host of talented students from the school between 11.15am and 11.45am, who will be performing a creative showcase.

From 2pm to 3pm there will be a hanging plant workshop, where experts from Bruntwood and Wrights will give you insider tips on how to create your own green oasis in an urban setting.

If you don’t fancy that – Bruntwood is also offering a screen printing workshop where you can pick up a new skill, and maybe even discover a new hobby.
