ALAN and Edith Walker had the pleasure of cutting the cake made in honour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, while celebrating at the Friendship Café’s street party on Friday.

The bunting, balloons and flags were up, and after sharing personal wedding photos and royal memorabilia, a sit-down buffet was enjoyed.

Footage showing Royal weddings prompted happy memories for those who had come along to the café and the highlight of the party was the cutting of the cake by Mr and Mrs Walker who have been married for 67 years.

The Friendship Cafe takes place every second and fourth Friday for those living with dementia and their carers in the hall at Knutsford Methodist Church, from 10am to midday.

The café is taking part in events being held this week for Knutsford Dementia Action Week.

On Friday, May 25 PCSO Courtney Nancollas will be hosting a friendship café event between 10am and 12pm at Knutsford Methodist Church.

The event is specifically aimed at those living with dementia, their families and carers.
