COMEDY fans packed the Brook Street Club at Knutsford to raise more than £650 to help the Labour Party campaign for local issues.
The money was raised through ticket sales, a raffle and an auction of a copy of Labour’s 2017 manifesto signed by Jeremy Corbyn, which raised £70.
Tatton Labour’s chairman, Vicki Swinden, said: “Our Knutsford comedy event was a huge success – laughter, a northern supper and great company.
“It's encouraging to discover that the good citizens of Knutsford - including one or two Conservative voters - were willing to come out, have fun and support progressive politics in Tatton.
“Labour has a strong tradition of supporting local events and entertainment and we wanted to bring that to Tatton.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to do that than a night of light-hearted comedy from some of the best in the business at one of Knutsford’s popular live performance venues.”
The evening was compered by Chris Brooker.
