RESTAURANT owner Bilal Moktadir is aiming to offer the best food in Cheshire at his new business.
Bilal is opening Margao, an Indian street food restaurant, in King Street, Knutsford, tomorrow (Tuesday).
The restaurant employs 12 staff, and will open from 5pm to 10.30pm from Monday to Thursday and midday until 11pm between Friday and Sunday.
“We are offering tapas-style Indian food, and there is nowhere in Knutsford offering street food,” said Bilal.
“This is a new concept for the town, and we aim to provide Indian street food of the best quality - healthy fresh produce - at a very reasonable price, with exceptional service.
“Knutsford is a very vibrant area, and I hope to provide the best food in Cheshire. We had preview evenings on Friday and Saturday, and people were ecstatically complimentary.”
The restaurant has been created in former restaurant premises at 89 King Street, and can seat 50 people.
Bilal was the general manager of a takeaway in Toft Road, Knutsford and a restaurant in London Road, Holmes Chapel, from 2004 to 2010.
He was general manager at The Double Tree restaurant in Preston from 2011 to 2016, and latterly was assistant manager at the Mughli Bar and Kitchen in Knutsford.
Bilal, from Wilmslow, will be running the restaurant with joint owner Brian Kelly from Knutsford.
