IT’S January, which means it’s panto season for the people of Knutsford.

This year’s Knutsford Little Theatre production takes us to the Merrydale for Jack and the Beanstalk.

We follow heroic youngster Jack Trot as he sets out to rid the village of the evil Giant Blunderbore.

With an entirely new production team and a raft of new faces on the Queen Street stage, the show promises to be the most giant pantomime yet when it comes to the set and props.

The show is directed by theatre regulars Ben Evans-Clarke and Sean Duvall, with musical direction from Jayne Guest, and Karen Wakeford as choreographer.

Michelle Anderson takes the title role of Jack, while panto favourite and last year’s Dame Ian Graham also returns to the stage as Giant Blunderbore’s evil henchman Fleshcreep.

Reformed panto ‘baddy’ Sarah Lorenz is Fairy Evergreen, Jane Ainley plays Jack’s love interest, Jill, and directors Ben and Sean also join the cast on stage as Billy Trot and Dame Trot, respectively.

New members Natalie Normanton and Rachel Perrin take up roles as King Maurice and his Mum, Queen Wysteria, respectively, as they make up the Royal Family of Merrydale, The principal cast are joined by 16 talented ensemble members, made up mostly of members of the theatre’s Junior Company, who provide energy and enthusiasm throughout the performance.

nThe show runs on various dates and times between Thursday, January 18 and Saturday, January 27.

There are 10 shows in total and all tickets are on sale now at £10.
