A FIVE-year-old girl from Knutsford has donated more than 12 inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust so it can be made into a wig for children who lose their hair during cancer treatment.

Eleanor Blaylock, who is in Year 1 at Bexton Primary School, came up with the idea to donate her hair when talking to her parents about her uncle, who died in 2016 following a battle with cancer.

Eleanor’s mum Sarah, said: “She asked how the doctors were trying to make her uncle better, and the subject of children losing their hair came up in the conversation.

“She then vowed to donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust to allow them to make wigs.

“Her hair was cut and re-styled free of charge on Friday, September 14, by Maxine Potter of Maxi Hair and sent to the Trust the following day.”

Eleanor raised more than £300 in sponsorship for the charity, and is now planning to grow her hair back so she can donate again.
