A FUNDRAISER is seeking to help a family of seven who 'lost everything' in a Shaw Lane house fire yesterday, Wednesday.

The blaze, caused by a hairdryer, took hold in a first floor bedroom of the semi-detached house yesterday evening.

Firefighters from Knutsford and Wilmslow were called at 6.26pm, and a man and a woman were treated for smoke inhalation. The whole family is safe and accounted for.

Family friend Lianne Wilcox has started a GoFundMe page seeking to raise £1,000 to help out.

She said: "I'm starting this page to raise as much money as possible to help my friends family at this heartbreaking time.

"They have lost everything in a devastating house fire thankfully nobody was hurt and there all ok but mum, dad and their five children now have nothing, so I'm asking you good people to please donate anything however big or small as every little helps.

"Donations will contribute towards making this ruin a home again.

"Help this hardworking family get back on their feet and make things that little bit easier at this devastating time."

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said that nearby homes were checked, and a large fan used to remove smoke from the house.

The family was put up in a hotel last night, and donations of clothing and other essentials are being accepted at the Parkgate Lane Co-op.
