KNUTSFORD Community First Responders Trust’s (KCFRT) upcoming cardiac screening day is almost full booked, with the amount of spaces remaining now down into single figures.

The screening day, at Knutsford Methodist Church on July 1, is the first of two to be held in 2017, following on from a successful inaugural event in October where more than 100 people aged between 14 and 35 were screened for underlying heart conditions.

The screening days are free to take part in, and are run by the Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity.

In order to run the two days this year, KCFRT have had to raise £10,000.

The trust, a registered charity, has also opened bookings for the second screening day, to be held on Saturday, September 23. In just over a week, more than 10 spaces have already been provisionally booked.

The trust acts as an umbrella for the first responders team in conjunction with the North West Ambulance Service, the HeartStart first aid training team based on the British Heart Foundation initiave, and the automatic external defibrillators (AED) initiative.
