POLICE are appealing for information after a car stolen from a Knutsford home was found burnt out in Booths Park.

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning, June 10, when the car was stolen - along with other items - from a Racefield Road address during a burglary.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called at 6:44 on the morning of Saturday, June 10 to reports of a burglary at an address on Racefield Road in Knutsford.

“Offenders are believed to have broken into the house and taken a number of items before stealing a car.

“The vehicle was later found burnt out at Booths Hall.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 185 of June 10.”

Firefighters say breathing apparatus was required to tackle to fire, which they are treating as arson.

“Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish a fire involving a car,” said a spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.

“One firefighter wore breathing apparatus. Police were requested to attend this incident.

“It is believed that this fire may have been started deliberately. If anyone knows anything about how this fire may have started then they should call Cheshire Police on 101.
