FOLLOWING the terrorist attack in Manchester earlier this week, the Guardian and Knutsford Academy have decided to cancel the hustings event due to be held on Friday evening.
All five Tatton candidates, Conservative Esther McVey, Labour’s Sam Rushworth, Lib Dem Gareth Wilson, Green Nigel Hennerley and independent Quentin Abel have been informed.
Carla Flynn, Guardian editor, said: "In light of Monday's terrorist attack at Manchester Arena, both the Guardian and the Academy, felt it was not the right time to stage the hustings event on Friday evening.
"Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this horrendous act."
The Guardian will be staging a Facebook 'Live' event with the candidates next week, where readers will be able to ask questions.
This video will then be on the Guardian's Facebook page for readers to watch at any time.
