I watched the BBC's Review of the Papers last night. The FT journalist said "it takes a lot to bring the FT Newsroom to a complete stop - the Thursday cake trolley comes close - but this certainly did the trick". Staff on the Standard itself greeted the news with a mixture of "shock, incredulity and hilarity" according to an insider. Osborne told staff in his introductory address that "I may have run a country, but I've never run a newspaper". (George seems to have forgotten that he wasn't actually Prime Minister. ) Including working for Black Rock, a US republican think tank, the Washington Speaker's Bureau, a book publisher, the Standard and Tatton constituency, Osborne now has six jobs. The man's arrogance and complete disregard for his constituents is breathtaking. Like Carla Flynn, I had to check that it wasn't April 1st
